2018 Ford F 150 XLT SuperCrew Cab 4x4 with 6” BDS lift
 

I’m buying a used 2018 Ford F 150 XLT SuperCrew Cab 4x4. My wife is a 55y/o tomboy, and after 4 kids finally out the house, she’s done with minivans and SUVs and she’s begging me for a jacked up Ford F-150. My idea for the build was with 6” BDS 1532F coil over lift kit, Fuel Assault D576 18x9 rims, Nitto Trail Grapplers 35x12.50R18, wheel to wheel nerf steps, and Ford pocket fender flares. I was getting an estimate from Custom Offsets and the salesman (very nice) said not a good set up. The Assault rims come with a -13 offset. BDS recommends 4.5” backspacing. This is where I get confused. He recommended changing the rims to a set with zero offset or -1 or +1 offset. When completed, I like an aggressive stance with tires, but only want them sticking out 1/2” to 1”. Help? Can I get these rims? Is the -13 offset the problem? Are the backspacing and offsetting additive?

So with the BDS lift your wheel options are more limited if you want 18’s due to clearance issues with the lift kits provided steering knuckles. It’s been a little while for me on the wheel specifics but it should be listed on their webpage.

Thanks, so I guess I look for different rims at this point, with an offset somewhere between minus one and plus one

You want positive offset. When you go negative, the wheels end up sticking out more
A lot of people go +15-+20. I went +0 and am really happy with it. With 35's (x12") I'm about an inch past the fender
