Default 2016 ford f150 xlt aftermarket tires and rims with level kit

Hello everyone,

Three weeks ago I purchased a 2015 ford f150 xlt with 14000 miles and not from a ford dealer. The truck came with mastercraft courser tires 305 70 20 and a level kit with rims. I took it for a test drive before purchase and honestly didn't feel this rubbing or grinding noise coming from my steering column. It wasnt until i was almost home when i felt and heard the steering column it is the loudest and can feel it the most at 35 mph but you can feel it from 30 to 50. I brought it to ford because I was told to do so by the dealer I got it from. Made the appointment, before my appointment my cluster went bad. They fixed my cluster under warranty and also told me they put stock tires back on the truck and the grinding/rubbing rubbing noise from my steering columb went away... i said ok its my dealerships problem because they put the tires on. Brought it back to the dealership because they are the ones who put the tires rims and level kit on. They have been working on my truck trying to figure out what is causing the rubbing/grinding noise coming from my steering column. The mechanics have confirmed what I have been hearing. But they have had no luck locating where it's grinding. I really like the tires and rims and would like this to work out does anyone have any suggestions because I can't enjoy driving the truck with this constant grinding/rubbing noise emitting from my steering column. Thank you in advanced for your responses.

It dosent take a brain surgeon to figure out the 305/70/20 tires are rubbing.

That's a big tire, almost 37". You are probably rubbing at the crash bars.

IIRC, the largest tire that doesn't rub with the stock wheel offset is a 35". To go bigger with just a level means changing the offset to push the tire out a little or adding wheel spacers to do the same thing.

I've never heard of or seen a 305/70r20 tire. Sure it was a 305/70?
