Default 2015 F150 XLT Chrome Removal

Hey all,

I got a good deal on a 2015 F150 XLT tuxedo black color with the chrome package. I couldn't say no, even though I'm not really a fan of the chrome.
Are stores like this on ebay legit?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2015-FORD-F-...-/191751712460

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-F-150-5...FWdHc7&vxp=mtr

Or am I risking it not being the same exact color as the Tuxedo Black? If so, anyone have any good options on replacing the valence and grill?

Thanks for all those who reply.

JC

I dont know much about those stores on ebay, but i have talked to a couple members who had their chrome bumpers painted for pretty cheap. Around 200 for the front and back. I would look into that before spending 1k on a bumper.

I just bought a Lariat grille and will be selling my OEM 5 bar grille with Tuxedo Black PTM surround. Shoot me your zip and I'll respond with a price including shipping.

Before I send a quote, you do know the grille I'm selling has the Tuxedo Black surround, right? I'm just selling the take off from my truck, not a vendor that has stock. If you want the surround to match I'd kindly suggest ebay or the member marketplace, otherwise you'll spend more money to get a part that isn't painted to match your truck. You can also buy the grille from Tasca or similar OEM vendor with no paint just primed and pay a local shop to spray it for you.

Hadn't thought of that. Thanks for the clarification. Obviously I am a f150 newbee.

I'm sorry, I never noticed this message!

As for my zip, its 78750 is you still have it. Also, I am not quite sure what the PTM surround is if you don't mind explaining it. Also have any pictures?

PTM = paint to match. The non chrome version of your grille has an outer ring that is painted to match the factory color of your truck. Here are some pics for reference:

Pic taken to show bumper grille, but you can clearly see the grille surround is PTM the Tuxedo Black of the truck. With the chrome 5 bars, that piece is also chrome.

Pic taken to show bug shield, but beneath it the grille surround is again clearly PTM the Tuxedo Black of the truck. The bars themselves, however, are not factory painted at all.

When I get a chance I'll shoot you a quote and more recent pics of the grille now that it is off of the truck.

Rough estimate for shipping is $40 - 50 for UPS ground. Item doesn't include the Ford badge or mounting screws as I had to reuse them to mount the new grille. I'll post pics tonight when I get home and we can talk numbers.
