Question 2007 key fobs

I just purchased a 2007 F-150 and it came with 1 transponder key and a separate after market remote for locks. The remote doesn't work. I was looking at getting this type of key but i'm worried about programming as ive read that you need a working remote of the same type. any help would be appreciated.

You will need 2 keys or you will have to get it programmed at the dealership. I haven't found any way around it so you may have to go pay that fee unfortunately.

^^ Burke is right. When I purchased my '04 F150 it had just one original key. I had to goto the dealership and get a new spare key ($76 with programming and key cost). Then I was able to purchase an aftermarket key and transponder set (x2 on Amazon for $15 for two transponders, and $12 for a chipped key). All works with good instructions. But like Burke said, you have to have 2 dealer keys.
