We are not going to give him our cost on a product.

We are still a business to try and make $$

That's where i'm coming at.

I think it's the way he wrote it made me upset..." Call me when you can give it to me at invoice ".
I agree with you there. I dont own a business but i understand you wont last long without making a profit. that being said i also dont plan on paying your mortgage for a year off 1 sale...lmao.

I also agree getting one at invoice right now is unreasonable. (unless you are family or something along those lines) I paid $175 under MSRP and couldnt have been happier with my deal.

Selling at invoice still nets a 2 grand profit in holdback, plus goes towards sales goals.

More than likely, a kickback for financing more than likely.

For 5 minutes of punching in an order, an hour of cleanup, and a few minutes of paperwork that's not a bad payday.

But, if people would stop paying the markup dealers would stop charging it.

Exactly what i was going to say, invoice on a suspension kit and a car deal are two different animals. Dealers have holdback, dealer cash and gross unit incentives. I promise at invoice for a dealer still nets a profit.

I agree that people paying over invoice is rediculous, but I also think that my wife's red bottom shoes are way overpriced and that company seems to be doing just fine. If people are willing to pay the price then dealers will keep marking them up. I was told by one dealer prior to the high markups how much they hated dealing with the raptors. He gave me a $50k number that they have to pay Ford in order to even qualify to sell them. I thought that was odd and could contribute to why dealers mark them up. If a dealer only gets 5 Raptors in one year and they have to pay Ford just to sell them, then why would they make anyone a deal? If I'm the dealer I'd sit on the truck until some customer came in willing to pay asking price.
I'm also in sales and I dislike tire kickers, but if someone comes in throwing out invoice immediately then I'd be happy to reply no and offer up the price on the sticker.

Default Msrp or close

1 crew cab at what looks like msrp and 2 at +750 buy it now on eBay. The 2 with the small premium have been in there for days.

I just placed my order for a 2018. After a bit of searching I found a dealer offering MSRP out of the gate in Port Charlotte.

Looks like my local dealer is offering this Raptor at MSRP: http://www.maxwellford.com/new/Ford/...c0c2ba503d.htm

It could also be that any mark up on it isn't shown on their website.

Despite being a bit cranky right now, I guess I can throw my two cents in. My local dealer, from whom I have bought 5 cars/trucks, told me 10K over from day one. I declined. They call every so often and seem surprised when I say I'm not paying over list.

Today I happened to drive by and they had five on the lot. Luckily in NJ dealers are closed on Sundays so you can look around and not get ambushed. I was very surprised to see they weren't asking for 10 over. It's up to +15K.

So they're getting caught up with demand, and actually getting some units in stock inventory, and the price is going UP ?? Now there's a business model.
The typical consumer has become so lazy, stupid and spoiled that they'll go for almost anything you wave under their collective noses. Well, just look at a typical program line-up on "prime time" TV and you get a pretty good picture of the average American's intellect these days. Not that I'm bitter or anything........ Rant over.

Im hoping your statement isnt correct, and that the dealer is sitting on 5 trucks because people ARENT stupid enough to pay $15k over. Especially when you could take that money and have one shipped from anywhere in the US and still have $13k left over.....

but you never know. Depending on location
