Default Traded my 12 xtr for 11 raptor.. Front end feels like its going to fall apart

i have searched but have not come up with a definitive answer my initial feeling was that the tie rods were toast and the shocks feel like they are topping out lacking fluid inside or something... it is a sketchy feeling just over little bumps in the road the slop and clunk is unbelievable for a truck with 12,000 miles on it

I have had the truck for 4 hours and regret trading mine for it

Might be a crazy question but did you test drive or have a mechanic check the truck before you traded? I would have drove it for a day before I made a major deal like that...not everyone babies their vehicle. Was it an even swap?

i test drove it but only on the highway and you do not notice it unless your going down a regular ****ty street all of our highways are smooth and new here.. The truck has the equivalent of like 12,000 miles on it and no accidents etc so i didnt worry about much and the trade was my lifted 2012 f150 xtr w/ lift and 37s and like 14,000cdn

Has anybody heard of a problem with a 2004 f150 crewcab where you cant open a door? It locked and won't open from inside or out, can't even pull up the lock with pliers. It is back passenger side door.

I would assume that being a 2011 and low mileage that this is all being fixed under warranty? Did you buy it from a dealer or shady used car lot?

Hi marshallpulham,

A few details in your posts lead me to believe that you are a a fellow Canadian; am I right? If that is the case, please send me a private message with your VIN, odometer reading, full name, best daytime phone number, and servicing dealer so I may look into some options for you.

Seems like a rattler crawled in there. Try starting a new thread.

Unfortunately, just because there is no record of an accident or repairs doesn't mean it never happened. The last truck I bought (2005 FX4 Screw) had a clean record. It wasn't until the truck was carjacked from me and put in a shop that I found out it had prior frame damage and repairs. The truck drove fine and had no paper history of accidents. It totaled anyway so it is no longer my problem.

The only way to know is to test drive the **** out of it and put it in the air and take a good look at everything. Hopefully it is something covered by a warranty. Factory warranties don't cover abuse by the previous owner. Some people buy a Raptor and think it is a custom built pre-runner and over do it a bit...
