Default Is the SVT Raptor a good choice to move to?

Hello Everyone,

I am the current (and semi-new owner) of a 2010 F-150 HD. I come from a tuned BMW 335IS with about 400hp. I purchased the HD to have luxury and need a truck for my everyday uses - since I've gone from living in a condo in the city to living in a house inland. With the Harley I can't say I miss luxury from the BMW, because I have all that I need plus more. Fuel economy isn't an issue but my biggest complaint is power. I have a largely underpowered truck and I didn't expect it to be such a slug. I want more power and I'm wondering if the Raptor is for me. I obviously don't want to lose out on Luxury, I enjoy the automatic running boards which I know I will lose in a Raptor.

The truck will be used for daily commute and pleasure, with an occasional carry - such as doors, windows, etc., as we are upgrading our home.

Your responses are greatly appreciated.

Dave

I came from a 335i Vishnu tuned, hpf front intercooler, meth injection, diverted valves, bms intake, and advan forged racing wheels. My 335 was really quick to say the least, but my f150 ecoboost tuned does the job, the raptor may be a bit much for a daily commuter IMHO. I would look for an ecoboost, and get a platinum you will get the best of all worlds luxury wise and power wise and get 15-17 mpg vs 10-12 with the 6.2. By the way I drive an fx4 ecoboost tuned by mpt.

In a comparison, the raptor is faster 0-60 than the tremor. Keep in mind that is a supercrew 6.2 on 35s vs a reg cab 4:10s on 31s. And a bit more luxury and cool factor. The 6.2/4:10 combo will give you enough oomph

Then a Raptor is right down your alley!

Lots of ways to tune your F150 and get that quicker response, without touching the price of a Raptor and not taking a huge hit on mpg that a 6.2 Raptor will def do...you could do what I did and get a 5.4 Raptor and tune it to just short of the 6.2 Raptor and still have an easy commuter. Lots of options, just depends on what YOU want to do and how you want to spend your money.

Check out the Rousch website. All kinda goodies to make your HD get up and go. A kit for the 5.4, does some hot things. Not cheap, but maybe cheaper than trading. I am thinking of a stage 2 enhancement for my 05 5.4L. IIRC, it is a 500+ hp and equal trq. Sweeeet.
