Default Tow capacity

Hi,

Why does the SVT raptor with 6.2L mtor have a lower tow capactiy than the lariat with 6.2L?

Long travel suspension reduces capacity to 8000lbs. Harley models are the lowest of all.

So I guess that is a FORD CYA legal thing or does the long travel suspension really make a difference in towing safety or mechanics of? What does long travel do that is negative?

The long travel suspension softly sprung and relies on the shock technology combined with the spring design to provide the 12" of travel. If you had stiff springs back there and were hitting high speed bumps or large terrain deflections you would be launching the truck into the air.
