Just went over 40k miles on the factory/stock K02's and had a nasty snowstorm that dumped around 30 inches of snow and the tires were marginal performers in the snow, ya I know they have almost reached the end of tread life, but even snow, over the last 2 year on icy/snowy roads (not deep, just normal winter roads) they were ok, but nothing great.
Had a flat tire in Moab with less than 8k miles on them & have just been underwhelmed with the tire, we drive lots of highway, gravel, dirt, hit the beaches once or twice a year, Moab once or twice a year, the S/W Rockies around Silverton Colorado and the Alpine loop, Black Bear and other trails in the area.
Looking for different tire options, been looking hard at the Nitto Ridge Grappler and then the Nitto EXO Grappler & see that the EXO has the 3 snowflake rating, haveing zero experience with Nitto, are they good quality tires able to take the kind of abuse we have thrown at the BFGF's with any improvement in traction??
How is tire wear, could care less about tire noise and tire life is not as important as traction, we do tend to go to Canada and some places they do mandate snowflake tires in winter, so that might be a issue also.
So, for those who have read all my dribble, what do you think about Nito tired, the EXO Vs Ridge grappler Vs BFG's and whatever other tires are out there for a Raptor
I have never been a fan of the KO2's winter performance, so I would go either of the Nitto's. But with that I think it depends how much snow/winter driving you do, unless it is a lot I would probably just go with the Ridge Grapplers as I would expect them to perform better/last longer with gravel/dirt/beaches/Moab driving.
I'd go with the Ridge Grapplers over the Exos because the Ridges are 5 lbs lighter.
But I'm not sure I'd go with either because they are both are load range E.
I thought long and hard about the Ridge Grappler, but when I got my new wheels I have never had any complaints with the KO2s so I stuck with those and still happy with them.
When I replaced the KO2s on my 2017 Raptor I went with load range D 315/70/17 Duratracs. They were a little louder than the KO2s but better in rain, snow and mud than the KO2s. They are also 3 lbs lighter than the stock load range C KO2s. I only have 12K miles on the KO2s on my 2020 Raptor and I'm already trying to decide what I'm going to replace them with when the time comes.
I just put Falken AT3W's on my Bronco and I love those tires. But the size I need for my Raptor are load range E and they are heavier than hell so those aren't on my short list.

Just want to make sure you know that Quebec is the only Province that requires snowflake tires before you make your decision! M+S rated is the acceptable minimum for BC, and the rest of the Provinces don't care what tires you run.

Have family in BC & just trying to cover all our bases

Have friends up in the UP who say Duratraccs are not any better in the snow than K02's and do not last as long given the same abuse, I've never been a fan of Goodyear tires

Ever since we got the Raptor, it just seems the tires were lacking, lots of MT, WY, CO mountain winter driving on thin ice/snow, just seems like we could do better
