The dealer we use has a new 2018 Raptor for $52K, another for $54k (race red) and the other 7 are $69-73k.

Test drove it and it did feel a lot beefer, not sure if I liked the v6 sound and road noise was noticeably louder in the interior compared to my platinum. I’m not sure if the platinum uses much more sound deading insulation. But I think I’m sticking with the platinum and going to put a 4inch bds with 35s.

Op I paid my truck off a couple months ago or so and contemplated this very thing. As I looked around at current stock, price, and another note every month. I quickly changed my mind and dumped a couple grand into my almost new truck, <16k miles even though it's 5 y/o. I could afford a new Raptor easily but there's so much more I'd rather spend the $ on. Perhaps I'd have a different plan if my truck had average miles for it's age, but she is still brand new for the most part.

No. It's a good engine. Honestly any of the engines made by Ford right now are good as long as you maintain them. That said, I won't buy a new Raptor because they don't come with a V8. But that is personal preference. I'm looking for a 14 Raptor myself. V8 is simpler, and I am looking for long term reliability and the ability to work on it myself. And they actually sound good, the New Raptors don't.

I can't decide on a color, they all look great on the Raptor
