i have drove my bosses Raptor many times and i love it. i personally went with a platinum F150 as i preferred the more refined look to the sporty off road style of the Raptor. the one thing i couldnt do with out was the 6.2L motor though, driving the Raptor made me fall in love with the power delivery of that motor so i found a Platinum with the 6.2L which was a win win for me.

i would say if you have the money for it, and arent concerned with gas mileage then i say go for the Raptor. you wont regret it one bit. if you are after MPGs and want a more intended tow rig then go with the ecoboost equipped truck. either way youll have one of the best trucks on the market that will very likely fit your demands and then some.

edit- i get about 15-17mpg pending on how i drive and the conditions

Sounds to me like you are the insecure one. The guy is happy with his choice of a Raptor, and that's all that matters. My Raptor is also my DD and I love it. Handles great, both on the road and off road. Heck of a lot more fun to drive than the EB I traded in.

I wouldn't worry about mpg in the new raptor. It will be considerably higher than the old model - 17/24.

Not a chance. Non Raptor 3.5TTs aren't pulling those numbers. Add more weight, larger tires, lower gears and a decent bump in power and I think you'll be lucky to get 16 combined. Maybe as high as 19-20 on the highway at 65-70.

Still a relevant topic and always will be as long as the Raptor still lives. Long live the Raptor!

Real world, I probably agree. But apparently 17/23 will be what they advertise.
