Default Raptor competitors

What would be the competition from the other 4 (GM, Dodge, Toyota, Nissan) major manufacturers? Tundra TRD Pro (is there one? I know they build a Tacoma TRD Pro)? Dodge RAM Rebel?

I don't think there really is a direct off the lot competitor, from the factory that is. What you named or the closest you could get, and so far all of them, at least Fiat and Chevy have said nothing they have put out has been meant as direct competition with Raptor.
Chevy has made some rumblings about doing something, makes sense, they usually make fun or dog something Ford does and then try to compete with their version of the same variant.
Maybe the upcoming Fiat/Jeep truck will have a Super Rubicon version...could be interesting

Tundra TRD Pro is already here for MY 16. Tacoma TRD Pro is MY 17 and accepting orders as well.

For Chevy, maybe the Silverado special edition? Nissan and Honda are more lay back on exterior rather than aggressive looking.

No competition. The gen 1 Raptor was a HUGE gamble. Ford didn't expect to sell anywhere near what they did, nor did they anticipate such strong demand. It's because of the 'lightning in a bottle' aspect that none of the other manufacturers have attempted one. The Titan Warrior Concept truck would have been the closest competitor.

The Ram Runner was a half assed attempt but given it was built from aftermarket gear it doesn't really count.

Yes, depending how these Gen2 sales are will probably sway some to put into production semi-rough projects they have or not. Small truck re-tested by GM, Ranger is back on and Fiat, err Ram, err Dodge is working on bringing a Dakota-ish back.
Unless something dramatic happens, I'm thinking the sales will be pretty strong.

I know it's not the same, but the rebel is probably the closest thing out there. It's still not even close mind you, but I see quite a few of them here in MN. I'm guessing the price has something to do with it, you can get one loaded up for around 45ish

The Reaper was lifted, not mid travel. More HP but wouldn't be able to match the Raptor (gen 1) in the dirt.

Definitely a direct competitor if it does come out, supposed to be out in 2017 but who knows.

Here's another link:

http://nissannews.com/en-US/nissan/u...onal-auto-show

Competitor on paper but no numbers yet WRT travel, shock sizing, etc...

I hope it's enough to force Ford to up its game on the Raptor.

Edit: reason I say 'on paper' - the regular Titan with the 5.0 diesel has a curb weight of 7,500lbs. The new Raptor will be about 5,500lbs for a scab and 5,700 for a screw.

The Titan will have to bring some serious tech/goodies to the table to make up for a 2k weight penalty - like 4.0 shocks vs 3.0's, hydro bumps from the factory, etc...
