MDJAK, I know some do it fairly soon after they get their trucks. They like to get the oil out, because of it being a newly build engine. I have never done this. Not saying its right or wrong, just preference. I will change mine at 5000 if the truck does not tell me to do so before then. After that I will change when the truck tells me to do so. The only reason I'm changing it at 5000 is because its free from the dealer. I'm at 2920.00 right now, trucks 3 months old also.

No oil on the garage floor and I would have never noticed. Tech noticed it at first oil change at 1,000 miles. Thought it was just excess or whatever and said we would check next change. At 4400, for my second change, noticed it was weeping again. Replaced pan and gaskets.

I probably change mine too often. Im superstitious though and go every four months or about 3000 miles. I drive about 9000 a year and figured I have an extra $45 to get the oil changed and tires rotated even if I don't really need it.

Mine's in the shop right now getting the oil pan replaced. I had looked at it at 2,000 and saw no issues. Took another look after a long trip at 5,000, and it's all over the skid plate. Nothing in the driveway. I was only checking because of frequent issues here on the forums.

Have you decided if you like the topper or not? Just curious now that you have had time to live with it for awhile.

It's growing on me somewhat, but certainly not my favorite mod by any stretch of the imagination. I get lots of compliments on it, but I'm not entirely sold on it. It's the first topper I've ever had.

The fit and finish is good, the paint is a dead on match, and it keeps the water out. I need the tailgate seal installed yet though to keep the dirt out.

I'll give a better review come pheasant season though. With four guys in the cab and three dogs in the back, it should be a good rooster rig.

Well, my painted ventshades came off this weekend when I was getting truck ceramic coated.

Looks much better now.

Ceramic coating looks amazing. But doesn’t photo well. Lol

Got offered a couple hundred less than I paid for mine so I cut it loose.

Back in a regular f150 now.

Happy trails all!
