Default Ordering a Raptor

Hey guys--
I ordered a new Raptor on 4-17. The order has yet to be accepted, due to dealer allocations, or something like that. The dealer told me that they canceled their outstanding F150 orders, and reentered them so mine would be on top. Their next order "pull" is 5-15? I guess my question is- did I order from the wrong dealer, or is this just the way the system works? Kinda sounds like a line of BS... Thanks!

No, they're not totally BS'ing you.

Dealers do have allocations based on sales volume.

Larger dealers can get trucks quicker/easier; smaller/slow-moving dealers have to wait. They're all in a rotation.

Considering you've waited a month for their rotation to come up; they must be kinda small.

FYI as of 4/26/11; no more Raptors will be built with Nav. due to parts shortages. Excerpt below.

Navigation Radio Available Changes Effective Immediately (4/26/11):
Due to a component part shortage, the availability of Navigation Radio on some Fordvehicle lines will be affected for the remainder of the 2011 Model Year. At this time, no Lincoln vehicle lines are impacted.

Retail Orders (As of 4/25/11)
All efforts will be made to prioritize the scheduling of retail orders submitted on or before April 25th that are impacted by this Navigation Radio availability change.
Note - There is no scheduling guarantee as retail orders must be clean and buildable and are subject to dealer allocation and commodity constraint.

See list of affected vehicle lines below:

Do we call Ford to see if our truck is affected? I ordered on May 3 and I just recieved my VIN. I have a delivery date of July 6 (I am stationed overseas and chose the delivery date). Can they tell me if my truck will have Nav or not? I ordered with Nav, fyi.

OP,
Sorry to hijack your thread! Congrats on the Raptor!

Swiffer: Best bet is to call Ford cust. svc. and try and find out.

Your dealer should also be able to tell you; but it will take some effort on their part.

The info I posted came from a commercial sales guy; so it's from the Ford system. Don't have any more details than what it says though

Update-- I gave up on the order, and found one locally. Quick photo of him in the garage... I'll get some "glam" shots later, lol.

Don't believe all the crap at the forum listed above. There is a lot more in depth and good information at the following forum for Raptor owners.

Visit both sites and see for yourself.
