Default New Raptor towing

Howdy all.

I am going to need a new truck around Feb 2018. My lease runs out then. What I need is a truck that can tow a single car enclosed trailer with a 2013 Shelby GT500 in it. I am getting ready to move from from OH to TN so I will be filling the trailer with house hold stuff a few times and pull it to TN. After that I will be just pulling my 2013 or 1968 Mustang in it. I will be pulling the TN mountains along with heading way out west into the Rockies once a year or so. So those of you with the new Raptor have you pulled a trailer with it? How does it do?

I really want a new Raptor but I understand it is not set up to tow so well.

I have a few other chooses but the Raptor is what I want. If it will not do what I need I will move on to the 250 or a King Ranch 150.

Thanks Mike

Raptors are not built to tow heavy weight. An enclosed with a GT500 in it would likely weigh ~7000lbs, which is far and above the 5000lb tow capacity

Thanks for the reply's. I saw one today towing an enclosed trailer on route 3 in WA. Lets just say I am not so sure the suspension is really setup up for the 8K rating. I guess I will be getting something else to tow with. Put unhappy face here.

But you don't know what was in the trailer. I would search for a current owner that has towed close to your plans before you decide. Raptor is everything you've heard about and more.

Check the payload. Tow rating similar to other F150 models. Payload MUCH lower.
