20 years old, I walk into the dealer ask to test drive an fx4. They say ok, I'm buying one the week later. My sales guy says to me "I wish I could afford a truck like this when I was 20". Hard work does pay off. Now I'm a proud owner of a loaded fx4. I'm surprised the dealer took me seriously tho, honestly.

I went in to my local dealer and got this goofy salesman. He was a good guy though and very thorough. I too was able to take the truck I wanted for the day without the salesmen. I am 24. Came back later that evening and did the paper work.

I am the God of hellfire
Similar thing happened to me last summer. Tried test driving an 03 Lightning with a sticker price of 18,000....ooooooh so expensive haha. I drove my truck to the dealer which is Kelley blue booked at 8,000 plus to show im a serious buyer. I talked with the salesman for probably 20 minutes about my truck and the lightning and then I finally asked for the keys. His reply, "Im sorry we don't really test drive this truck unless your a very serious buyer, a lot of people just want to hotrod it."
I just calmly said "Sir, Im 27 years old and theres(pointing at my truck) my damn near perfect 2001 F150 id be trading in for it, we aren't talking about a Bentley, we are talking about a supercharged pickup ...ill take my business elsewhere."
Guy called 3 times that week, I think he realized he fudged up ...had he let me test drive that truck Im 99% sure I would have bought it.
I really dislike dealerships with passion, doubt ill buy from one again.

Maybe the Lightning couldn't stand up to a test drive, you know what I mean? A different issue then.

Anythings possible ...I just don't like how Ive been treated like a 16 year old kid everytime Ive tried to buy a vehicle. Its weird, because I don't look young, hell im even balding ...no respect!

While in my very brief stint as a salesman at our local dealership I had a nice clean cut kid come in wanting to buy a Platinum. Not one salesman would give him their time. So I walked up, helped him, actually listened to him and found out he'd just graduated college and got hired on at a local plant, where starting out (i just happened to know, your making 70-80K minimum) at his position. So we drove it, talked a while then he went home with some information claiming he'd call me in the morning. The rest of the day at the dealership all the guys told me how i'd wasted my time, and he'd never call, he just wanted to drive one. Not knowing anything about him. Next morning around 10 he shows up, didn't even call and left a hour or so later in his new loaded platinum. And me with a very good bonus off it. It pays off not to judge people, I learned while not all salesman are these evil blood sucking demons they're made out to be, alot of them do judge. It's just human nature. But if you look past someone's appearance there's alot of money to be made haha
