You can see it on the info screen. My readings on the info screen are usually 1-2 psi higher than when I check them manually.

I also let a ton of air out of my over inflated factory filled tires. Made a big difference in overall ride quality at 38psi.

I found one optioned up how I wanted it and in the colors I would have ordered. All seemed good until.....

Now the bad part. I was so excited to drive this truck and expected it to be buttery smooth on the roads. I was shocked that the truck was very bumpy on roads that were not great but at the same time, not horrible either. Every bump was amplified as it oscillated too so it wasn't just the first "hit" of the bump you felt but an oscillation of 3 or 4 more right after in quick succession as the suspension tried to deal with it. Like every bump had a a set of instant "aftershocks".

I was blown away by how rough it was. Immediately disappointed. I knew in the first mile the Raptor wasn't for me. My X5M with run flat tires - which are generally harsher than regular tires - rides orders of magnitude smoother. It lacks the beefy suspension, coils and shocks that the Raptor does as well as the big fat tires. I simply don't understand how the Raptor was this harsh on public streets.

I test drove a Lariat FX Supercrew right after to see how that compared. It was significantly better and FAR more livable for street driving. I'm now looking at a very loaded up Lariat build at 65k.

The Raptor was so unpleasant over typical bumps on the street I just could not see daily driving it even a limited amount let alone taking it on any longer drive.

It was really a disappointing day for me. I had wanted a Raptor for so many years now and was ready to get the deal done this week and now not so much. I always LOVED how the Raptor looked and love the new one as well. I guess my X5M is either incredible on the road and spoiled me or the Raptor really is a rough and tumble ride on the street.

Anyway, now it is a long wait until the 2018's are built so have some time to see if I want to do any aftermarket to the Lariat when it comes in. I did the Lariat all blacked out, black wheels with FX4 package, 3.5L ecoboost and just about every option you can get. Will at least try to get a little bit of a street/dirt warrior out of it.
I've had my Raptor for 2 months now and I find the ride quality to be like you describe. I feel every little bump and it feels like everything is out of balance. The ride is horrible compared to my old 2012 FX4. Had it into the dealer a couple of times and they say this is how they all ride. They wont let me test drive another Raptor to compare so I'm not sure how true this is. Had the wheels road force balanced and I think that made it worse. I'm starting to regret the purchase.

Imteresting. The dealer did check and just got back to me. Said tire pressure was 62 PSI! I have not been back to drive another one but maybe tire pressure was the issue. Or based on your similar experience maybe this is just how some raptors ride

^^Yup. The demo I test drove at a dealer was 55 PSI and when I took delivery of my new 2017 from that dealer, it was 55 PSI as well. The dealer had no idea nor did they check either truck. So you pay for dealer prep and they don't even check tire pressure?! WTF?

Let me ask you how was the ride difference at the dealer 55 PSI vs your new raptor (assuming you lowered the pressure on tires right?)?

If you read my account several posts above my test drive was horrible. Ride quality was about a 1 out of 10. PSI was over 60 on my demo.

Night and day. I wasn't turned off at all when I test drove. I had nothing to compare it to and expected somewhat of bouncy ride. The roads I test drove on where relatively smooth. Between the time I test drove and the time I took delivery, I had read a thread regarding the over inflation for shipping purposes. It was the first thing I checked when I got home from the dealer. The first time I returned to the dealer, I told them to check the tires of the demo as they wouldn't be doing themselves any favors by letting it out with over inflated tires. Sure enough, they were over inflated and it makes a big difference in ride.

Finally test drove another Raptor today with what they told me was about 40-42 psi in it. Still higher than the 38 PSI recommended.

My thoughts compared to the 62 PSI one I drove....

It was somewhat improved at the lower pressure or so it seemed. I didn't go for as long a drive as I did in the first one and the route taken was not quite as bumpy as the first one. I still noticed the "aftershocks" after hitting a bump where it wasn't one and done. Hit the bump and feel about 3 oscillations as the suspension feels like it is trying to stabilize. Perhaps this is unavoidable in a truck without air suspension like say the Ram trucks?

So now on the fence. It was better but not really that smooth compared to my BMW X5M with the harder run flat tires and what I would have considered a much weaker road going suspension than a Raptor.

Also I do notice the 10 speed shifting a bit.

Wondering if any Raptor owners out there are unhappy post purchase with anything about the truck? Ride quality? Transmission? Anything else?

Dealer has truck with my exact spec on it right now so going back and forth and still unsure.

This is just my opinion and by no means am I trying to sound like "That Guy" on the internet but.....it sounds like the Raptor is not the truck for you. There are a ton of vehicles out there that I think are cool but I would never own for various reasons....I understand the ride quality of the 62 PSI raptor being a slight turn off but to honest when I test drove mine it had 55+ PSI and it still didn't bother me and I was hooked as soon as I drove it. Once I dropped the PSI to spec (mainly because I like things to be in manufacture spec) I liked it even more...We also have an X5 (with the M sport etc etc) and I love driving the Raptor more....don't get me wrong the X5 is very nice but I think it boils down to managing expectations. I think we all agree that Raptors are cool trucks but they don't fit everyone's needs. If you don't like the way the truck rides I would test drive other trucks (if you need a truck at all) or just stick with the X5....no matter how much money you make it's an expensive purchase and you need to be able to be happy with it.

Good luck and hope you are successful just remember to manage your expectations. You wouldn't enjoy going for a jog in dress shoes if you catch my drift.....get the right tool for the job..

But in the city at slower speeds 20-25 mph or more so on out-of-city roads going about 45 mph, the bumps are hard and jarring. This could be fixed if they fixed the roads but don't see that happening anytime soon...

So, could you please explain the on street ride of your Raptors in similar and other road conditions? Do you think the Raptor would ride better than the Platinum in those conditions?

Thnx!
We have a few F150s between Raptors and Platinums

Don't believe anyone who tells you that the Raptor is just as composed on the street as a Platinum - simply not true

Full disclosure, I'll choose the Raptor every time but the Platinum is by far smoother and most importantly quieter, than the Raptor - and this is with E rated 285/65/20 KO2s on the Platinum

A stock Platinum with OEM tires would be even more plush but still not as much fun to drive as the Raptor
