Default Purchased 2017 black raptor

Hi. I just purchased a 2017 raptor black on Black with 8000 miles last week. I am very happy with the purchase, I will be picking it up tomorrow. So far the only two adds on I have made to the raptor are the bed extender and side window deflectors. For bed covers I am looking at either the hard tri folding bak flip or the access low max hard tri fold bed cover. I was wondering what fellow raptor owners thought about different bed covers or these two specifically. I am also thinking about mud flaps from weather tec as well.

The other mod I am thinking about is a borla exhaust. What exhaust out there do people who own raptors feel is the best sounding exhaust, and a exhaust that will be well constructed and covered by warranty, or will not void a ford warranty. I also purchased a extended warranty for the raptor.

As as far as tires go, what kind of wear are people getting out of the stock raptor tires with a lot of daily driving over pavement. Does anybody change their tires out summer vs. winter.

any input would be great.

thank you.

Borla makes the exhaust for Ford Performance. You can't get the ATAK but the Touring and Sport are the same. Warranty depends on the dealer I think. If you bought the Ford parts and had them install, I'm not sure why there would be any issue warranty wise... but stranger things have happened. I'm personally waiting until my warranty is done.

Thank you.The atak exhaust from borla is the one I was going to get. So ford does not offer that particular borla exhaust, I would have to buy it directly from borla ?

I don't own a Raptor, but I installed a complete Raptor exhaust system on my XLT from the down pipes back. I used a Corsa Raptor resonator delete x-pipe in place of the Raptor resonator. I really like the sound and there is no drone when cruising. It sounds good when accelerating. I was going to use the Borla/Ford performance system but it would have cost $1500. I have only about $1200 in this system including $400 for delete x-pipe and it's true dual exhaust. Corsa also does a muffler for the Raptor as well but I am happy with mine as is. You can find a sound clip on American Muscle website for the x-pipe on a Raptor.

If I had a Raptor, that would probably be my only mod. But thanks to those who do make lots of mods to their Raptors. It allows the rest of us to buy takeoffs at reasonable prices, ie: my exhaust system (cat back), rear bumper and running boards.

My 2 cents.

ATAK is LAF. Some people like that - I'll tell you cabin noise gets old if you use your truck as a daily driver. I strongly suggest you go to a Raptor gathering and get a listen... They all perform fairly closely, but the sound of every system is unique.

Not to thread-jack, but do you have the 5.0 or the 6.2? I've read of a few people making a stock raptor exhaust work on a 5.0 engine by having a shop put on a custom adapter I think it was.

My truck is 2016 w/3.5 ecoboost. The 2017/18 Raptor exhaust fit without any problems from turbos back. Looks factory. No adapters needed.

Ah makes sense. Didn't click in my head that your's was probably an eco since the new raptors have that engine. Thanks!
