What does his political preference have to do with anything I'm a conservative and didn't vote for Obama and will tell you that the new ecoboost thats being put into the Raptor will outperform the outgoing 6.2 hell even the current ecoboost can hang with the raptor. Theres no need for political BS

6.2 was a dog I had 11 Eco went to 13 raptor and after 6 mos back to 14 Eco. Only 2 motors ford should put in trucks are 3.5 Eco and powerstroke and would still outsell everyone else

Lots of folks get confused with outcomes vs purpose comparisons.
The F150 6.2 was specifically designed for the Raptor and was added to HDs and non Raptors to spread out the cost. Nobody is drag racing in BAJA - acceleration as a function of overall performance is of almost no value to the Raptor. The 6.2 was DESIGNED to operate between 5 & 6k RPM all day long in harsh conditions and be reliable.
The Eco was DESIGNED to be a fleet engine (very large volume of production) and perform heavy duty tasks reliably. As a consequence of its torque delivery, it also has very good acceleration. The small displacement w/ turbos thing is a no brainer WRT MPGs.
It's not surprising then that the Eco can out accelerate or get better MPGs than the 6.2 - neither were part of the 6.2s original intent. That isn't a flaw in the 6.2, it's the intellectual equivalent of trying to shove a square peg in a round hole. The 6.2 can EASILY make 700hp with a very meaty torque curve N/A but it's expensive because of their low production volume and little aftermarket support. Also, don't forget when the Raptor was raced in BAJA there were no turbo classes.
Now that there is a specific 3.5TT class, it's makes perfect sense that the Gen 2 Raptors would align with that class and take advantage of the higher production numbers of the Eco. Whatever is 'unique' about the Raptor Eco will be commonplace in F150s in a year or two.

I love the 6.2, buddies raptor definitely moves out tuned and such. My Eco is faster but regardless I love the look of the raptor.
