I'm all for power. Exhaust doesn't mean power. I get it. It sounds cool. I was all about the v8 and the exhaust note. Read some of my threads, I hated the Eco not bc of the engine, but bc if the exhaust note. Come almost a year later, I've tried to quiet my raptor down - loud gets old. if the engine in the new raptor is all its said to be, I welcome it. I think if a tuner like SVC got a hold of it (they make an amazing 6.2 tune) it's going to be tough to stick to the whole "I only drive a v8" thing. Will I buy the first year? Probably not...2nd, possibly. I would probably by the second to last or last year of that models run and hopefully keep my 6.2. Would love to have both generations sitting in my driveway.

Crying and butt hurt because of no V8 Raptor?
Not crying or butt hurt at all, just my preference to have a V8.
Still wouldn't mater to me if the EB V6 had 1,000 more HP and made Lattes, its just a preference.
For those of you that wanted the V6 EB, great for you!
I may change my mind when they release them and get one, but I will wait to see what the reviews are like first.
My current F150 is a workhorse. I have 40 acres and I use the s**t out of my truck. Its not just another pretty face, its covered in mud and cow s**t.

Now your starting to sound like a whiner.

You want the v8 that's easy buy a 2014.

This article with ford's answers makes it sound like it's better in every way

Why cant I have my own opinion without being called names? Just because some of you jump on the EB V6 wagon doesn't mean the rest of us have to.
Like I said, I use my truck, its not for show. Im sure 90% of you have never driven your trucks through river banks and farm ponds, pull stumps, haul gravel and dirt or even drive through narrow trails where you can hear limbs and twigs digging into the paint as you drive by.
My V8 does this and asks for more. A V8 is my preference. If what I post makes you mad enough to call me names than you need some anger Mgt.
Seriously. I don't **** what you eat.

Sorry about the name calling. You did not deserve that. But with that said everything you listed above there is absolutely no reason the eco can't do everything you listed and in most cases better Add to that ford thinks its a better motor and as far as they are concerned the 6.2 is obsolete. For it's worth my truck has its fair share of Arizona pinstripes

Hell before my Eco, there was no way in hell I was not going to have a V8 vehicle. But this thing is a tank. I feel you man I'm just giving you crap.

Would be badass for a Eco 5.0 though lol.

For my very few miles my truck has seen too much paint abuse and mud than I would like lol

Yep and to keep going on and on why a v8 is better when the numbers disagree is pretty funny to me and the rest of us who have converted. I miss the v8 sound and thats it. the Eco is so much more fun to drive it's just crazy!!! Been waiting on a eco raptor since the eco came out. So I guess the only reason Ford would consider a less capable engine is to give us a lower cost Raptor. That makes a lot of sense. Note less capable is numbers only the 5.0 is great in it's own way!
