Default 2017 F-150/Raptor - New Automatic Transmission Fluid ***SSM 46205***

SSM 46205 - 2017 F-150/Raptor - 3.5L Gasoline Turbocharged Direct Injection (GTDI) – 10R80 - New Automatic Transmission Fluid - MERCON® ULV XT-12-QULV

2017 F-150 and Raptor vehicles equipped with a 3.5L GTDI engine and a 10R80 transmission requires a new automatic transmission fluid, MERCON® Ultra Low Viscosity (ULV). It is important to positively identify the transmission and service with the correct fluid. Use only Motorcraft MERCON® ULV Automatic Transmission Fluid XT-12-QULV (WSS-M2C949-A) or equivalent when servicing these vehicles. Using improper transmission fluid may result in internal transmission damage.

Things can happen at any dealer/repair shop for sure. There have been plenty of cases of no oil/wrong oil going into vehicles etc. Its rather scary to take your vehicle to someone now. If a code is not thrown, sorry we have no idea what it might be garbage comes up. Has there been any issues with the wrong transmission fluid being put in at the factory?. I sure hope when mine gets built they put the right stuff in there.

What would lead you to believe the wrong fluid was installed at the factory?

This is just an fyi that the fluid spec has changed for the new 10R80 transmission
