2017 to 2019 ?
Hi there,
I currently own a black 2017 ford raptor. I love it ! Although I have a opportunity to go into a 2019 ruby red metallic raptor, with the leather black seats, 802 A, technology package, carbon fiber trim, and graphics. I have watched a few videos on the 2019 updates and I like the updates they have done. And I love the ruby red metallic. I was just wondering if anybody else has gone from a loaded 2017 into a loaded 2019, and is it worth it ? Do you notice the ride difference with the computer talking to the shocks ? I do feel like the 2017 and 2018 raptors have some body roll in corners. Any advice or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks. |
I'm kicking tires on a Raptor with so many 18's still sitting on lots. I messaged a person on the Raptor forum that went from an18 Raptor to a 2019 that was raving about the 19; asked him if it's worth paying extra for a 19 vs finding a good deal on an 18 sitting on a lot.
He said: Probably not worth it. The 18 was very nice. The shocks and suspension improvements may have been costly for Ford; but if you have a choice and can save the difference, not sure it is worth going for the 19. Coming from a non Raptor owner :-) - since you love your 17 I would keep it. |

My reasons for trading from a 17 to a 19 is because of the new shock package, the color, the hot spot Wi-Fi, and some of the other new features. The new terrain management, or crawl control is not important to me. just wondering did he mention if he notices a big feel difference with the road handling with the new suspension set up. |

The dealership gave me $ 58,000.00 for my black 2017 with 21,000 miles and I paid $ 1000.00 under MSRP, which was $ 74,350.00. I originally paid $ 65,000.00 for my 2017, MSRP was $ 69,150.00. You were right. I went and test drove a 2019 ruby red metallic raptor yesterday. After about 5 minutes of driving I could notice a big difference in the shock package. The 2019 is definitely firmer, but in a good way. Definitely felt more planted and less body roll when cornering. 2 things I did not like about my 2017, body roll in corners and the live back end, but with the 2019 these 2 issues seemed to be improved greatly. I also think ford did a great job with some of the other updates. The live shocks alone are worth the $ 2200.00 price increase, but you actually get a lot more than that.

It seems from a phone, even if you are not on the mobile site, those options just aren't there. BTW, what state are you in? Do you have off roading available nearby? In NY it's very slim pickings. With my 2017 Raptor I did a guided off road tour up and around Hunter Mountain. It was pretty good day, but just way too slow a pace and became boring by day's end, especially for $375. Ah, but they did serve lunch at the summit. lol |
