Default 2017-2018 differences

So what are the differences between the 2017 and the new 2018?

This may shed some light on the subject.

Very informative story examining the 2018 F150 Diesel Engine Possibilities.

http://www.torquenews.com/106/examin...-possibilities

Here is a quote

2018 F150 Diesel –vs – Ram 1500 EcoDiesel
The most fuel efficient half ton truck sold in America right now is the Ram 1500 powered by the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6. That engine provides the Ram 1500 with 240 horsepower and 420lb-ft of torque while achieving 21mpg around town and 29mpg on the highway (rear wheel drive models only), so those are all figures which the Ford will plan to beat with their 2018 F150 diesel.

I don't know much but from what I've read it's basically a grill, headlight, tailight and tailgate redesign. It appears in pictures that the xlt models still have halogen headlamps. I also read the interior is not changing but did see a different cloth material which looked cheaper to me. I was thinking about holding out if the xlt got led lighting and duel climate control but I'm betting that isn't going to happen. I'll either go 2017 or with something else entirely after I research and test drive everything.

being this was posted in the raptor forum im guessing he is referring to the differences in just the raptor..

There has been nothing from Ford as a guarantee so everything you get here is speculation.

My guess is the outside will not change really at all. Ive heard they will be adding the new built in wifi(4g) so you dont have to use your phone. but like i said just speculation.

Hopefully some actual news will be released by june-ish.

Oops my mistake. I didn't notice the forum.

I bet you're right. I can't imagine they would change much since 2017 was a complete revamp.

I don't recall where but when the 2018 was shown, someone somewhere said "no major changes" for 2018 so I would bet on the new rear tailgate and interior changes but not the front

5.0L V8 EcoBoost
Lol can you imagine? I can
I want this to be true but Ford spent all that money and R&D into the 3.5HO, I doubt they'll be putting out the 5.0 Eco until the mid 5yr design change or maybe after 5yrs.

But I can still imagine it, Ford saying well **** it, here is a Twin turbo 5.0 V8 to compete with hellcat and the likes.

Start offering the 3.5HO Eco to regular F150s and keep the 5.0 Eco for the raptor or the stang or the GT. no more fart can sound and no more in cab fake engine noise.

But yea I doubt it.
