I ordered a 2012 black Scab about 3 weeks ago. Guess I need to put my 2009 FX4 up for sale soon. Hopefully will see the Raptor around Christmas. I got mine from a local dealer that matched what Randy was offering so I went with them since I have bought trucks from them before. I did talk with Randy by email and he is extremely knowledgable and seems very straight forward. I talked to a lot of dealers, some won't deal at all and some will. Gotta shop around for sure.

Wow...Interesting that a dealer would match that pricing....Very interesting....I would think they would be trying to get premiums for a little while since there are still 2011's hanging around. What dealership was this? You should post up on Raptorforumz.com

Ford has their own loophole....its called "ECOBOOST"

The "loophole" is the limited production run of the vehicle. If a vehicle is under a certain number for yearly production (3600 units IIRC) then they avoid the CAFE standards and gas guzzler taxes, etc. I remember reading something about it on Autoblog.

To the OP, congrats!

Yep Supercrew, blue flame, every option except for bed side graphics and a moon roof. Paid $3k off MSRP. Thats what Randy does on ALL of his Raptor orders. No questions asked, no extra hidden fees, no BS. We bought my fiance's 2011 Mustang GT through Randy as well last year, awesome guy to deal with and didn't hesitate for a second to order my Raptor through him.

They built around 10k raptors in 2010. Probably aruond the same for 2011, they're still in production though so no final counts yet. But it's a fleet average. Every vehicle in the fleet doesn't need to meet that standard, but the average of all the vehicles needs to reach that limit, thats why they offer 40+ mpg vehicles, to offset the crappy 12-14 mpg ones.
