14 Raptor purchase question
I have found a smoking deal on a 14 Raptor with 41,500 miles.
The holdup for me is that it came out of New York. Concerned about rust. It shows no outward appearance at this time. Any input? |
Why would coming from NY cause you to worry about rust? If it came from Florida I'd worry about rust from the salt air.
But Ford pickups and other manufacturers tend to rust on the undercarriage and I don't think it's that big a deal. Where is it in NY? Maybe a member can inspect it for you. |
It is actually in New Mexico.
Carfax revealed the New York connection. My concern is the salt used on the roads. |
I’d be way more concerned that’s it’s been beat to hell off-roading in NM than salt. Unless it’s uostate NY, we don’t get that much snow. This year so far it’s snowed maybe twice. I’d also be much more concerned with buying a 5 yr old vehicle and potential expensive repairs to things than salt. |
Check the underside of the rockers and cab corners. They tend to rot the most in those areas.

He just purchased it from auction earlier this month. |
