Yea running an intercooler will cool down the air temps which will make it more dense which means more power. And any type of forced induction will increase the temps of the incomming air.

Curious Question, does anyone know which exact Mustangs if any have the 4.6L Vin W motor in them? cause they make a TON of turbo Manifolds for just about every kind of Mustangs, so I am wondering Y I couldn't just rob one off of a mustang...lol what do you think?

Also what would it take to Run 5.4L heads on a 4.6L seeing as they both have the same exact block? what about using Domed Heads and Flat Top Pistons with 5.4L heads. ?

The Ford Modular engine is Ford Motor Company's overhead camshaft (OHC) V8 and V10 engine family, which has been produced in 4.6L, 5.0L (Cammer, Coyote), 5.4L, 5.8L and 6.8L variations.

Contrary to popular belief, the Modular engine did not get its name from its design or sharing of certain parts among the engine family. Instead, the name was derived from a manufacturing plant protocol, "Modular", where the plant and its tooling could be changed out in a matter of hours to manufacture different versions of the engine family.[1]

The Modular engines are used in various Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles. Modular engines used in Ford trucks were marketed under the Triton name from 1997-2010 while the InTech name was used for a time at Lincoln for vehicles equipped with DOHC versions of the engines.
I can't speak to swapping the heads because not all modular heads interchange but if I was going to piece something together:

Pick up an early 4.6 from a crown vic, they had the 4.6 prior to the mustangs and up until the first run in 99 had the teksid block - this was the first design, Ford cheaped out and re-designed the block for 99 and later. 96-98 cobras and first run 99 had them as well but they are a little more coin.

The teksid blocks had a ton of external webbing cast into the design making them very strong (all aluminum)

Troll the svt boards and grab a crank, rods and pistons from a termi guy that's upgrading

Install rotating assembly, hand port the intake and exhaust ports and bolt on the CV heads with cometic gaskets and arp head bolts,

Pick up a used set of headers, junkyard turbo and a some charge piping off ebay

Buy a NEW BOV and boost controller

Google DIY turbo kits or pick up a CARTEK

If you take your time, learn the tricks and do the work yourself you can have a very reliable ~800hp for less than 5 grand. Less than that if you have any luck at all.

4.6 and 5.4 heads and cams will interchange within their respective families ie: PI or NPI, they are the same part for trucks
