Sounds like a Hammer Hitting my Motor!!!
Hello everyone!
I have no error codes reported and my truck idles / drives perfectly fine. I seem to get these sounds of a hammer hitting in repetition under my hood, ( very noticeable! ) whenever I am going up a hill or slightly up grade road! I have brand new spark plugs from motor craft, and the truck has 206,000Km now. I have always had this issue since I bought the truck used.
my wires and coil packs are originals and my pcm does not report any error codes to me. I have the common leaking passenger side exhaust manifold as do most others.
My motor is a 4.6L Windsor. Stock. Aside from the K & N Air Filter of course! I also have a new fuel filter, and I get this on gas from different stations to different octanes.
