Retro-fit older Ford engine
Has anybody swapped an older Ford engine into a Modular V8 truck?
Given the commonality of the 4R70W's bolt pattern, the availability of stand-alone trans controllers, and the general suckiness of the modular design, I'd like to put a 351 or 400 in place of the 5.4L I have now.
Mine is an '01 2-valve, so I don't have to mess around with cam phasers, but I do have that awful exhaust leak. When I got quotes for fixing that leak, the cost was half as much as a replacement engine, which is the same as a decent BluePrint crate engine.

4R70w's bolt pattern was changed to fit the Modular engines. They use their own bolt pattern.
