Not to mention the I6 has nearly the same torque as a 351. If i was you, i would replace with all quality parts, do the big 3 upgrade, k&n filter, ignition upgrade, etc. You should see 250 HP that way. By just doing all quality parts. And it seems youve got the money, time, resources. Pull the I6 out and rebuild it ground up. All forged internals.

Ok, I'm just not sure what mods will be involved in the clutch/flywheel arrangement. Also if I swap one of these engines out of another truck is there a lot of computer brain and wiring to figure out?

Email South Bend Clutch and tell them you have a Ford 300 with the M5R2 and are planning on modifying the engine to make more power. 300 clutches are cheap, in fact I'm actually having a flywheel for my 4.2 machined by South Bend so it will accept the larger 300 pressure plate so I can run one of their heavier duty clutches which will more than double the towing capacity of the truck. They want to charge me $380 for the kit and the machining of the flywheel.

A quick search tuned up Clifford Performance as one of the more knowledgable about 300 internals. Other wise I would say port match the heads, put a slightly thinner head gasket on, new intake manifold, performance injectors and you should have a pretty good little set up. http://www.cliffordperformance.net/M...gory_Code=F300
