Everyone tells me that but honestly i like what i have and it has sentimental value to me so thats why im doing what im doing. Plus no one would expect to see a 2WD extended cab F150 with all that power, its just something different. To the gear heads its called a sleeper lol.

Default Upgrades

While I agree with some posts about buying a lightning to begin with, this just doesn't work for me. I need a crew cab 4x4 truck and I want power. I also have a 2000 Saleen SC, and it's a monster. I don't expect an f150 to move like that, but I do expect a little more out of a 5.4, regardless of the application. I found a company, www.promarengine.com, where you can get a thoroughly rebuilt 5.4 with upgraded cams for about $3500 shipped, with free core charge - as long as you ship your old engine back within 30 days, which they pay for. It's in the 375 to 400 hp range and looks impressive. You simply can't supercharge a truck for less than that. If you want to go ***** out, you can add a supercharger to it for about $10K installed, and have about a 500 to 550 hp f150 rocket ship! I have added a high flow cat with flowmaster 40 series, dual electric fans, a k&n cold air intake, and a hypertech power programmer. It definitely has improved the performance over stock. I am getting about 17 mpg now and can outrun most comparable trucks. I'm saving up for a promar engine and I'll let you know when I get it installed.
