I have the same with my 07 5.4 F150. Whines like a supercharger also. What does Ford say about it? Any word from them or a dealer?

I had the same whine with my 5.4L, it started about 2 weeks ago, couldn't figure out where is was coming from but it was in the area of the tensioner & idler pulleys, It finally went from a whine to a rattle, I took off the serpintine belt and the tensioner pulley just fell off....lol. The bearings were gone. I changed it and now it runs nice and smooth. I was thankful it wasn't any thing else to serious as there is always so many possiblity's of what it could have been. It was well worth the $29.99 for a nice quiet ride.

I put all new idlers and tensioner pulley, along with a Gatorback belt. The chirps and squeaks are gone, but it does sound like a super charger under there. It's the belt in my case.
