Well just got my expedition back from the shop and they were able to put a new gasket on the manifold and it runs a lot better now. No more check engine light.

so you didnt put on a new plenum? has it been leaking since?

Just buy an AEM CAI. That kit will delete the ugly *** plenum, its silencer, the intake tube and the whole ugly air box. All that for half of what you need to play for that stupid plenum.

The AEM is bad *** because it does not retain the lower part of the air box and plenum

Replace the PCV valve, that could have caused the gasket to leak.

How that work? ive never seen a CAI replace a plenum??? If so show me the link because that would solve my issue at hand!

So i know this thread is super old but ha. Im puting a crate motor in a 2003 expy with 4.6 and the plenum gasket comes with metal grommets In the gasket when my plenum has them IN the plenum.(not removable at all) The one i got from AA also has grommets in the gasket. Punched the grommets out well the ones on the plenum are too thick for the gasket by .030 and will bottom out on the upper intake b4 the gasket every hits.? any ideas?
