I recently bought a 2001 with a 5.4 It had a miss and had a code for #5 cylinder misfire. I checked out the plug and COP and they were fine. I added Chevron Techron and an extra additive that came from the gas pump when I topped of the tank. I ran it a few miles then let it sit overnight. The next day it was running like new.
While researching this problem on this forum I read lots of questions and suggestions concerning engine miss. It seemed very rare that anyone actually verified what the final solution was. It would be helpful if folks did that so that is what I did.
I love my new 2001 Supercrew 4X4.
