When I take it in for service, I get the same response..the guy at Oil Changers almost started to argue with me until he realised they take the same amount of oil...
Having a frankenstein is good and bad sometimes..good because I have a few more ponies and bad because I have to constantly remind the mechanics that it is a different motor..I even had a sign made that I hang on the rear view mirror when I take it in for maintenance to remind the techs..they get a good chuckle out of it anyway...

Same thing here, 2004 STX 4.6l 3v with a 4 spd. It goes even deeper though, when i changed out my U-joints and we couldn't figure out why they wouldn't fit, we took in the whole drive shaft and it turns out it was from the heritage model (i have the new body style) did some more digging, and found out that i have a heritage rear end as well (so 4:10 instead of the 4:11). I asked a freind who works at ford he said that some times at the end of the build years they have more parts from one type of truck and not enough from the other. So they just use what they have to kick out a few more trucks.
P.s.
I also got ahold of the guy who bought it new and said that he took it to the dealer for all of the maintenence, so i know he didn't change them out...

Well i am not at home in houston this week im in new jersey but i belive it has a 4 speed tranny i did notice that a three valve motor has the throttlebody mounted further back on the intake ,,thats why the k/n cai filter kit i bought wont fit and there is less of a bend in it to hook up to TB ,,,
So i got back to my first question ,,is there a place i can put in my vin number and have it tell me all of what is in my truck ,,my Dad was 75 so i know he would have never swapped anything in it and he always had the ford dealer he bought it from change the oil and freaking wash it ,,
