Default When floored car cuts off.

I own a 1984 f150 6 cylinder. When I floor it, it cuts off. Is this a major problem? It is only a single barrel carburator.

I am not a carb expert by any means but been around plenty due to my dad and it sounds like your accelerator pump is shot. its job is to give an extra shot of fuel when you floor it so when the vacuum increases the carb doesn't run dry.
