My 1985 F150 single cab short bed has a 4.9 300 I6 had 307,000 miles on it when I pulled the engine. Short of an "iffy" distributor and a carb that needed to be tuned, it started every turn of the key, at the time I pulled the engine. I know the regional airport where I take some flight lessons uses 4.9 I6s in their tugs and almost all have close to or over 300,000 miles on them.

Mine only has 120,000 but still runs awesome, and I have known people to run the oil and water out of these motors and the damn things are still going!!!
