Default f150 3.7 engine

How many rpms does this engine turn up under full acceleration. My rpms goes to almost 6500 before shifting. Is this normal? I will be going 100 and still in 3rd gear.

If it is shifting before 6500, you don't have it floored. The normal shift speed is 6900 WOT. And yes, you will hit the speed limiter in 3rd gear, crazy part is it hits it in around 25 seconds.

Default v6 and transmission

I am also noticing a 2 to 3 second hesitation when placing the transmission in reverse after the truck has been sitting for 3 or four days. Is this normal.

The redline in that engine is 7000rpm so yea it's normal. As far as the tranny i wouldnt worry about it. The fluid has just settled so when you put it into gear the valve body has to suck it back up. It would also help if you let everything idle for a little bit especially if you in a cold weather climate.
