4.9 Knock Sensor????

4.9 Knock Sensor????
My neighbor has a 1993 F-150 with a 4.9 I-6. He broke his Knock Sensor and when he called Advance Auto they told him 4.9's don't have one...
I had to dig into my Ford Tech cd's to even find a Knock Sensor listed on a harness. He has a broken Knock Sensor on the oil filter side of the block.
I found one thread on another site stating the part is no longer available...
Rock Auto pulled up a bolt thru sensor for alot of money. His looks more like a temp sensor.
I have never worked on an inline engine, can someone shed some light on this for me???
