Default F-150 STX with 3.7 V6, 4X4

Just picked up my F-150 with normal V6 and so far very happy. Been a dodge ram man all my life but after seeing ford comparison vidoe descided to take the test drive. I would get between 250-310Km from the dodge hemi and the F-150 says 906 KM till next fill up. Thats 3 times the distance with V6 and this effects the bottom line of my business. Great fit and finish, trim package was basic, I will miss cruz control. BTW I am in Ottawa Canada and deal with lots of cold and snow. Great reviews in forum and hope to chat more with members.

Default V6 4X4, F-150 Super cab

Yes I tried to get the 4 door version V6 (eco boost) but was 16K more. I tried out the 4X4 today and slogging thru about 12"onches snow was no porblem in our fields, didn't try any hills or "bush"" yet. I am a snow clearance contractor and was using the 4X2 Hemi and it was killing me gas in Canada. I don't plow every day and should be no problems for the little snow falls. The big ones I will get out the big blower. Also, I have a boat and got stuck on the ramp one day and had to be pulled out by Chev,...HMMMMMM...... Could have got out easy with 4X4, lesson learned..... This truck will be the secondary truck and a daily driver. So far I am inpressed and the dealer service was utterly outstanding her in Ottawa, top notch sales and delivery job.

That's pretty damn good so far and improving. As gas hit $3.499 here today, the more I am considering getting the 3.7L over the 5.0L.

Default 3.7 V6 Review

5 days and 187.5 Km or 116 Miles, truck is smooth and fuel meter says 786 km to empty. With my Dodge Ram 1500 I would have burned thru 3/4 tank of gas so far (about $75.00 Canadian). The gas gauge has not even reached the 3/4 of tank line yet. I drive pretty conservative (187 Km = 116 mile) the truck is on par with with claims of 23 miles per gallon. Yes I live in Canada, big snow storm today and I am going playing in the snow later this afternoon. Gas in Ottawa is 120.0 per liter or $4.80 per gallon, this was a very good move for my business.

My post above was a little pessimistic. I got 19 while going up and down mountains looking for investments inside a couple of neighborhoods.

I am very happy with my 3.7. It is a terrific base engine and the 5.0 is a terrific upgrade. For me it came down to what I was going to be doing with the truck. The 3.7 has plenty of power for what I do and can be down right sporty when prodded.

I priced out this truck on Ford.com:

2011 Ford F-150 SuperCab XLT 4x2, 6 1/2' Box
3.7L V6 FFV Engine
Electronic 6 Speed Automatic Transmission with Tow Haul Mode,
3.73 Limited Slip Axle Ratio
Trailer Tow Pkg
XLT Plus Pkg
XLT Custom Pkg
XLT Convenience Pkg

Base MSRP: $29,755
Options: $1,915
Destination: $750
MSRP $32,645

I'll have to find out what the X-plan price is for this build out and then tack on the $2,500 in available incentives. I also have a $750 coupon but it expires on 4/3/11 so I doubt it would be here if I ordered it. I've tried looking locally and there is only one truck with the custom package (black exterior) and it doesn't have any other options.

Hopefully, I can get this in the $28k range or so.

I'm debating SuperCab vs. SuperCrew - that's another entire issue.

Im going supercrew 4x2, with the 3.7 XTR. ill lose out on a 6.5' box but the bigger dry space in the back makes up for it.
