Does anyone know if the new 2015 3.5L v6 ffv can be upgraded to a turbo system. The engines look identical with the exception of the manifold and turbos.

That's not as simple as a yes or no. It is not the same block. It is strengthened down below different Pistons connecting rods and main bearing supports. Honestly completely different. Can you make it a 3.5 tt? Not without spending more than just trading and getting a 3.5tt. Can you add a turbo? Sure but in my opinion save your money.

Thx rexey. It seemed as though ford just upgraded the 3.5 with turbos but if your correct, that does seem a little over the top. More hassle than it's worth thanks again.

I'm not sure why you think that. Check the ford part numbers. Even the block is 2 separate part numbers. I'm pretty sure they don't share 1 part. Maybe gaskets? Oil pan? If you decide to do it please take pics and post. I'd love to see it!!!

Don't forget the direct gasoline injection system on the Ford turbo engines the NA v6 would grenade at eco's boost level's.

thx again. it was worth a thought and when I could not find any aftermarket kits I figured there was a reason but had to ask.
