Interesting, Might hold back on the 2.7, then again its only 2

 

Have to say, two years in that I am extremely happy with my 2.7L.

 

Not saying any of the previous posters had tuned their vehicles but it seems like one might have more problems with their vehicles when they change the parameters of the engines design.
I know with motorcycles the more one mods the engine ie: cams etc. the reliability of the motors degrade.

 

Perhaps but even Ford just tunes engines to get major performance increase i.e. raptor

 

I forgot to come back on this forum and report what happened. Dealer removed the oil pan and discovered the #3 connecting rod bearing had failed. Oil pan was full of metal and bearing debris. Ford replaced the entire engine under warranty. I immediately traded it in for a 2017 3.5 Ecoboost.

 

Did you flash it back to stock before they took it in and diagnosed it?
