It's my understanding that the 2.7 is the most popular engine choice in the F150 now. With so many being sold, it's got to be a reliable power plant.

It was an early build truck. I can't remember the date. I know Ford has some oiling issues with these early build 2.7 engines. They replaced the ECU at the same time they replaced the engine. A Ford tech friend of mine said if they are going to fail, it's usually before 20K miles. After that you're in the clear. He's seen 3 so far at his dealership. Tow truck driver that towed me said he had just towed one in the week before for the same issue. Ford has been good about warrantying them.

I know with motorcycles the more one mods the engine ie: cams etc. the reliability of the motors degrade.
Not Victory 106 engines. Those babies are built like a tank. I have 71k on my 2013 with cams a PC-V fuel controller, an upgraded air filter, and V&H slip-ons. On a friendly DYNO I'm pulling 120/120. I hope to see 100k before I have it bored out to a 116. Too bad Polaris killed the best damn production V-twin ever made via the greatest country in the world!
