My truck is stock height, with 112,000 miles. I had the notorious drive line clunk, and transmission cooling problem that resulted in new transmission cooler lines and radiator. That cost me $1100 to fix.

Then, I drove 600 miles all highway, and I started hearing a "whirring" noise from under my passenger seats. After a little Google, it's the carrier bearing going bad on the 2 piece driveshaft.

I called Ford and gave them my VIN, and you carrier bearing is part of the driveshaft and I'll have to replace the entire driveshaft, which costs $1400 through Ford.

I'm going to have to find a cheaper aftermarket one. Then, I'll do a drop/wheel combo.

I was planning on doing it, until this came up.

Don't feel bad, at 15k mine had the rear main seal go out then at 20k the windshield wipers wouldn't turn off so had to get a new switch. 22k miss fire in cyclinder 6, now at 26k have another oil leak coming from the front of the motor.
