Default Ground Force 1.5 / 2.5" lowering kit

https://www.groundforce.com/part-details.php?part=9988

Interested in going this route as opposed to a leveling kit - just like the looks a little better on these. Anyway, I know little about lowering kits and searched threads and online as much as I could before making this thread. To those with experience with this exact kit or similar, will this cause vibration in the driveshaft? I've read, "no, not if you shim" , "no , you don't need to shim with this kit" and last but not least "yes, i get some vibration even with shims." If there is vibration that comes along with this, I must say that I will run the other way. I'm O.K with a little compromise on ride quality, but not much beyond that. What other trimming, cutting or modification is needed beyond notching out the box supports where the drop shackle meets? Thanks!

Ford Performance sells the Ground Force Kit under their name. Linked below are the installation instructions.

Seems like a lot of work for such a little amount of drop.

Same could be said for all the 1.5"- 2" leveling kits out there... minus spending a little extra time to do the rear. Either way, I opted to just go with rear lowering shackles for now.

When you're done post a picture...I'm still undecided on how to level. I'm really not sure is want to go the full 2" in the front to level the truck. I'm leaning towards what I believe JohnDay did. Lowering shackles in the back and slight raise in front with adjustable struts just enough to remove most of the rake.

I just meant because having to swap springs onto the struts. That is a lot of work. Much more than adding a strut spacer. OC Mike has a good option as well. But since you are 4x4, just take out blocks. Its free and will get 1.25" of drop.

Good idea, You're right...Is that what John did?...I was thinking he added shackles. Wonder if the "U" bolts have enough thread? I noticed the full Ground Force lowing kit has you remove the block and comes with new "U" bolts. I'm not sure if I would need to deal with the pinon angles or not with such a small drop. Probably not because it doesn't amount to much more then filling the truck to max payload, its why the rake is there in the first place.

The RTR concept truck has the stance that I would like to achieve.

Will do. I probably won't get to it until next weekend when we get our nice warm MI winter weather. You are right, John did the same lowering shackles in the back with a slight facelift. I'm not sure I'm going to go that exact route yet since I am kind of going for a modest street performance look with most likely 22" rims. I'll post pics once it's done though.

With just the GF lowering shackles, you don't have to shim. That was a big check in my 'pros' box when I was figuring out which way I wanted to go. That RTR has a bit of a pre-runner look. Looks neat.

Yeah...Same color as yours too! Thanks for the tip about the shims. Mine will be a RCSB with a one piece drive shaft. That's a plus and a minus when it come to lowering. From what I've read the pinion angle is critical for those. Probably a good idea just to buy several sizes of shims from BelTech to have ready when you tear it down.
