Default Can I remove my rear block like this?

I am looking to take the rear block out of my 18 xlt 4x4. Can I just do like in this vid without much chance of messing something up? I know a lot say lift the whole back end...jack stands...drop rear to release pressure and so on. Can I just loosen the 4 bolts and lift via the leaf spring to get the block out and let it pop back together?

I wouldn’t personally but that doesn’t mean others don’t do it that way. I lean towards doing things safely as I get older.

Part of my problem is I have never lowered a truck or fooled with removing blocks...only lowered cars in the past. So I guess I dont know what could really go wrong if that makes sense. It seems pretty cut and dry and if I do only one side I would have the whole rear miss align? Or can it still?
