2009-2014 4x4 lowering kit install (DJM)
Just wanted to start a thread on how my install went with the DJM 2/4 lowering kit on my 2014. I searched a lot of threads with a lot of great info but it was hard to find it all in one place. So this is why I'm starting this thread.
First things first. I have a 2014 with the different lower control arms. Since DJM comes with new lower control arms it makes it a quick swap to get rid of those. Took me and a buddy 3.5 hours to do the front LCAs. I went from a 2" leveling kit to a 2" drop so lost a total of 4"s up front. Here are some before and after pics

Here are some more pics from under the truck prior to the alignment. CV shafts are straight and no rubbing. Thinking about installing some ground force coil spring to lower it another 1.5" but still on the fence.

Here is the rear and this was a pain in the @$$. Thought this would've took a few hours but I turned into about 5-6 hours from doing it in the driveway with hand tools and one visit to the ER. I went from a 3" block on the rear to a flip kit. The only think I don't like about the flip kit is how the rear shackles hang down so much. Learned a lot with this lowering kit install.
First things first was cutting the front bolt in the drivers side since the fuel tank is in the way. That resulted into a visit to the ER after the cutoff wheel kicked back and cut me wide open.
Next was unbolting the lift blocks along with removing the pins out from the center of the leaf springs. After that was done it was removing the rear hanger and taking the leaf springs out and hanging the front shackles. Then moved to the passenger side and did the same over there. But instead of hitting the gas tank I hit my Borla exhaust.

Next was installing the brackets in the rear axle and hanging the U bolts over. The main thing I was worried about was wondering what bolt to remove from the leaf springs since there were 2 guide bolts. Well after some help from another forum member I realized t was the most rear bolt but it needed to be flipped. Instead of the nut being on the top you move it to the bottom. Then everything went right in place. Here are some pics of the rear. If you guys have any questions feel free to ask. This is my first time installing a lowering kit in my driveway with hand tools and Jack stands.
