I just checked a crew cab 2017 and the difference on that angle was 4 degrees. I need to install different shims cause what came with the kit doesn't work.

Yea...3-4 degrees is where you need to be. I always aim for 3...just an old habit. Once you know where everything is sitting though it's simple math to fix it. No need to guess at it.

Hopefully a taller shim wont point pinion up because then ill be running it dry at the pinion.

They went in like instructions said to. If i turn them around it would make my pinion angle worse. The pinion was level on the app but the truck was on an incline so it should be pointing down if i were to park on a flat surface.

It doesn't matter if the truck is level or not. You're just trying to find the difference between the driveshaft and pinion. That number will be the same no matter what.

Yeah i understand that but what im saying is if i put in a thicker shim there is going to be a point where the pinion points up and thats what i wanted to avoid. Called and verified shim orientation and they are in correct.

Someone else had a 2/4 lowering kit and they were having the exact issue also.

there is a lot of information about driveshaft angles, just need to measure and do simple math, it really isnt hard http://spicerparts.com/anglemaster/measuring-angles

Was the rear lowering kit a flip kit? If so I think the shims are backwards. However my kit is the belltech 5.5 its a rear flip and the shims went thin side towards the cab and it got rid of 90% of the vibration.
