Sort of? Other side of the narrows bridge. Ive never actually lived closer than about 30 miles from Tacoma.

Curious as to why you are looking to replace the ECU. While it's failure is possible, it is rare. It is considered to be for the most part, a "life of the vehicle" component.

if i put the truck in drive it just revs, if i push the O/D cancel button it shifts up and down 1-3 just fine the if push the button again above 40 it goes in to overdrive but it will shift into neutral if i press the gas to hard

Have you pulled codes by chance? Are you sure its not a transmission issue?

X2. When the ECU goes, it doesn't just effect Trans function.

no i havnt pulled codes. posted a thread on here and couple guys said it sounded like the controller.

Pull codes, and I would check the physical condition of any electrical component on the trans that you can.
