Looking for a 5.4 engine for my 2000 f150. I got screwed on the deal, the guy told be it had a bad coil pack and needed a tune up. Turns out no compression. I just got laid off work and unemployment is barely gonna cover the bills. I don't have much to trade, but I do have a laptop that was about 800 new, Sony vaio, its a little over a year old but I've only used it a handful of times, and you can have the core motor back. I'm not looking for people to throw a motor at me, but just a little help. If you can help, let me know, as this is my only vehicle that I have.

I have actually found one about 20 miles away, but still in the process of running tests on it to decide if its still good, then the next problem of coming up with the money.

 

Is that the one for 500?

 

Well this one is 600. From an insurance auction 2000 expedition with 135k. The other one for 500 was sold and I found another one about 2 hour drive away still in a 2001 expedition tbone. That one is 500 too but it has almost 230k.

 

Yeah I'd get the one with 135k unless you could get the other for cheap and make sure it's a good motor. You have a picker etc to put it in?

 

Yes. And I don't need to pay cores so I'm gonna slowly build my current motor when I start to get a steady income. Hopefully I can get this loan from my boss and I can get the motor and get it in and it will be good. I'd rather have the lower mileage engine but with everything today, you just can't tell what's good anymore and somebody will royally screw you for a couple bucks.

 

The only thing I should need to put the motor in with, is flat ground lol.

 

You kinda got me scared, my motor just picked up a miss, I assumed it was just a coil pack and tune up on mine. I sure hope my compression is good. By the way, mine is a 2000 Harley Davidson edition with 160,000. Sure saves gas just sitting tho lol.
