99-02 silver gauge cover
I have a silver cover that goes over the gauges for a 99-02 F-150 with a tach. It comes complete with the wiring for it and has a **** that you are able to change the color from blue to green and adjust the brightness of it. Selling for $20 plus shipping, send me a zip and will get you the exact amount.

that is the switch to change the color from green to blue. comes on when lights are turned on just like the current setup does. instructions are simple, just pull the cluster out, pop the needles off and lay this over the cluster and reassemble. the other plugs should plug into the current illumination wires going to the factory cluster.

For the most part, an item like this would be. Except that you have to properly mark where the needles are BEFORE you remove it. You also need to take caution about bending the metal that holds the needle, or breaking the needle. Most people will tell you to use a fork, just make sure that you don't try going too quickly otherwise your readings may be off. There looks to be 7 total for this one.
To the OP, how does this work with mechanical vs. digital odometers? And what brand is it? IIRC these kinda stuff doesn't dim with the headlights, so the external dimmer is included, also the print on them can be off, so even if you put the needle in the exact same spot, you can be going a few miles over or under what it says, and you have to make sure it won't shift later in the heat (if you use adhesive) and that it won't warp causing your needle to stick.
I've never installed one in my own vehicle, just other peoples. Most people won't have a problem, but like all products, few do. Just take time, as with anything else, and your odds of screwing it up, are lower.
